Alan Baumgartner

Alan Dale Baumgartner, 70, of Hilliard, passed away November 10 in Jacksonville following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Bluffton, Indiana. His parents were the late Raymond and Alva Carter Baumgartner. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a member of the Westside Republican Club and was a member of the Hilliard First Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife: Emily Baumgartner of Hilliard, FL; a son: Kent Baumgartner of San Diego, CA; a brother: Harold Baumgartner of Westminster, Maryland; and 2-sisters: Avis Hulvey of Ossian, Indiana, and Carol Harness of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday November 13 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday November 14 at 1:00 PM at the Hilliard First Assembly of God with Rev. Arlie Johns officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery.
