Alex Benjamin Scott

Alex Benjamin Scott, 83, of Hilliard, FL passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Life Care Center of Hilliard.  He was born June 27, 1940 in Baxley, GA to the late Alex Scott and Myrtle Lee Wigley Scott.  Mr. Scott served as president of the Local IAM, and was a volunteer for the Nassau County Council on Aging.  He enjoyed working for Eastern Airlines and enjoyed dirt track racing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2-sisters:  Louise Crosby and Earline Lee and 2-brothers:  Herman Scott and Harry Dale Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years:  Phyllis Scott; 2-daughters and sons-in-law:  Tammy Scott and Chuck Weatherly and Stephanie and Doug Loyd; a grandson:   Tyler (Kaitlyn) Loyd; a brother:   Daniel (Patricia) Scott; 5-sisters:   Velma Tyre, Edna (Larry) Dyal, Lawanda (Donald) Johnson, Glenda Hennesy, Ermalee Winn; a sister-in-law:  Mary Ann Scott; 2-brothers-in-law:  Jim Sineath and Chris (Katherine) Sineath; also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14 at 2:00 PM in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Marvin Lee officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.
