Barbara Rocchina Trudeau

Barbara Rocchina Cardillo Trudeau was born in Torrington, Connecticut October 23, 1938. She passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday April 30, 2023.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Caroline Cardillo, her husband, James Trudeau ( Lt. Col. USMC ret). She is survived by her brother, Daniel (Linda) Cardillo; brother-in-law, Peter (Linda) Trudeau, sister-in-law, Karen(Dan) Driscoll; four children, Doreen (Mike) Tedeschi, Dawn Malin, Hope Calderon (Ryan Meyers), Frank Trudeau. Her nine grandchildren, Daniele Miljour, Michael Tedeschi, Frank Tedeschi, Alexis Malin, Douglas Malin, Dylan Trudeau, Catalina Trudeau, Christopher Trudeau and Kaitlyn Hoffecker, and six great grandchildren.

Barbara moved to Folkston, Georgia in 1998 and opened the Barbara Roxanne School of Dance, she loved teaching dance and had done this since she was 16years old. She then managed the Curves for Women and later became a yoga instructor at Anytime Fitness. She spent many years as the Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for Tourism, volunteered at the Okefenokee Chamber, Depot and Museum. She welcomed rail fans every Saturday, organized volunteers for chamber activities and cooking for many chamber events. She never met a stranger and believed life was for celebrating.

Please join her family at Saint Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Folkston Georgia on May 9, 2023. We will have a viewing at 10 AM, a funeral mass at 11 followed by her interment at national cemetery Jacksonville, Florida at 2:30PM 

The family asked that you join them for a brief celebration of life in the social hall following mass. Following this she will be buried at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville Florida at 2:30 pm.  Please arrive by 2:15 and line up in lane 2.

Donations can be made in memory of Barbara Trudeau to support youth Summer Theatre Camps and other arts education programs for youth.
