Betty Carter

Betty Louise Carter, 82, of Hilliard, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on October 11, 2015. She was born December 8, 1932 in Hilliard, to the late Roy Lee Sikes and Amanda Jenell (Nellie) Tomlinson Sikes. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Johnson & Jerry David Carter and three brothers, Addison Sikes, Cecil Sikes and Kenneth Sikes.
She was survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Carter; three daughters, Margaret (Sidney) Haddock, Betty Jean (Eddie) Conner and Darlene (the late Robin) Lloyd; four sons, Gary (the late Carolyn) Johnson, Teddy Johnson, Allen (Jennifer) Carter and Don (Lynn) Johnson; two sisters, Geraldine (JL) Reeves and Irene (the late Herbert) Stokes; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Shepard Funeral in Folkston from 6pm – 8pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015 at River Road Baptist Church in Hilliard at 10:00am with Bro. Mike Pruitte and Rev. Ricky Dyal officiating. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery in Hilliard.
