Carrol Eugene Franklin, 76, of Hilliard, FL, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
He was born in Booneville, MS, on April 13, 1949, to the late Dewey Webster Franklin, Sr. and Lorena Young Franklin. Carrol was a proud combat war veteran, serving with honor in the United States Army 9th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. His service to his country reflected the same courage and dedication he carried throughout his life.
A true businessman who believed deeply in hard work, Carrol spent his life building and supporting his community. He also served three terms with the Ocean Highway Port Authority, demonstrating his commitment to the betterment of those around him.
Carrol loved his family dearly and was truly one of a kind. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Boulougne and a man of faith, integrity, and perseverance.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, David Franklin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy Franklin; two sons, Garrett Franklin and Greg Franklin; his beloved granddaughter, Diana Del Franklin; three brothers, Bobby Franklin (Emily), Dewey Franklin, Jr. (Theresa), and Billie Joe Franklin; one sister, Alvie Cochran; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00–8:00 PM on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Boulougne. A service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Boulougne with Pastor Paul Lucas officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Pigeon Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Franklin, Jr., Mark Cochran, William Cochran, John Franklin, Donald Franklin, and James Cason. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Franklin, Brenton Franklin, Kevin VanZant, Calvin Johnson, and Jim Kauffman.
