Chris R. Jackson, 68, of Folkston, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023. He was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 22, 1954 to the late Noah Jackson and Betty Jackson. Chris graduated from Charlton County High School in 1973. While at CCHS, he played baseball, basketball, and football. He was referred to as “Pistol” on the basketball team. Chris worked for CSX for over 40 years. He was an avid sportsman in his younger years and enjoyed coaching sports and his children at WDYA Athletic Association in Jacksonville, Florida. He enjoyed vacations at Fernandina Beach with family and friends, and loved hunting sharks teeth while there. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father to his four children, and grandfather to his six grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Jody Jackson, his four children; Patrick (Jessica) Jackson, Andy (Cathy) Jackson, Matthew (Melissa) Jackson and Jenny Jackson, six grandchildren; Hannah Jackson, Noah Jackson, Ava Jackson, Wyatt Jackson, Eden Jackson and Christopher Jackson, three sisters; Belinda (Larry) Kern, Sarah (Rocky) Harrison and Phyllis (Ron) Eunice, three brothers; David (Karen) Jackson, Joel (Tammy) Jackson and Marshall (Mandy) Jackson, uncle; Broughton (Mary Ellen) Jackson, sister-in-law; Jana (Bruce) Williams, mother-in-law; “Greek” Harper, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members that loved him dearly.
Memorialization will be by cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 1:30pm-4:30pm at 85 Doc Huling Lane Folkston, GA 31537.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association, The AFE Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
