Clara Elizabeth Guynn-Sikes

Clara Nelson Guynn-Sikes, 80, of Hilliard, FL, passed away on June 12, 2025.

She was born in Hilliard, FL, on July 28, 1944, daughter of the late Bertha Johnson Nelson and Earl David Nelson. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 44 years, Troy Guynn. Their children are Patricia Haddock (Glenn), Barbara Miller (James), and Gerald Guynn (Daphne). Her daughter, Barbara Miller was together in passing with her. She is survived by 7 grandchildren: Eric Haddock (Jennifer), Summer Haddock-Thrift (Allen), Winter Miller, James Dyllan Miller, Autumn Guynn (Kory), Troy J. Guynn and Harley Guynn. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Clara was the sister of; Elsie Braddock Carter (Lawson), Emily Franklin (Bobby), Earl Steve Nelson, Freddie David Nelson and Eddie Jackson Nelson (Sue), 2 step siblings; Sheila Rawls Lindsey and Johnny Rawls.

After the passing of her husband, Troy Guynn, Clara remarried. She was together in passing with her current husband, Carl “Russell” Sikes, who she was married to for 12 years. She gained 4 stepchildren with the marriage: Bo, Robin, Randy and Crystal.

Daily reminders that were important to Clara, choose your words carefully before you act, choose God’s greater purpose than winning at any cost, and be persistent in prayer (Pray-Read-Listen) wait for His peace.

Clara was a remarkable woman of faith, a pillar of strength and wisdom whose love and kindness touched countless hearts. With a heart full of love and a spirit that never faltered, she saw the beauty in everyone. Her bible was a cherished companion, a source of guidance and strength that illuminated her path throughout life. She is now reunited with loved ones who’ve gone before her, celebrating in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Boulougne. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Boulougne with Bro. Paul Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard. Pallbearers will be Eric Haddock, Lantz Sullivan, Randy Guynn, Jason Guynn, Freddie Nelson, Roger Braddock, Wayne Guynn and Kory Bryant.
