Dora Lee Helms Rogers King

Dora Lee Helms Rogers King, 82, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. She was born in Brunswick, GA to the late Willie Joe and Dora Lee Boutwell Helms. She was a member of Bay Harbor Church of God. She loved playing the piano, crocheting, writing, drawing, reading books, growing flowers, yard work and talking about the Bible.

In addition to her parents, Dora is preceded in death by a daughter; Lily May Rogers, 2 husbands; Cleveland Rogers and Jefferson King, a grandson; Pete Smith and 3 brothers; Tony Helms, Michael Helms and David Helms.

She is survived by 2 daughters; Rose Griner and Iris Campbell, a son; Cleveland “Buddy” Rogers, 2 sisters; Debbie Purvis and Viola Williams, grandchildren; Carolyn Rogers, Tanya Jones, Tony Smith, Shaun Gibson, Danielle Smith, Mary Smith, Rema May, Erica Farmer, Jerri Lynn King, Christy Hilliard and Christopher Hilliard, 24 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and her cats.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm. A service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Homeland Cemetery.
