Doris June (Higinbotham) Knox, age 95, of Grindstone, PA passed away in St. Mary's, Georgia on Friday, October 20, 2023.
She was born on August 16, 1928 to the late Samuel Higinbotham and Lucy (Ashcraft) Higinbotham. Doris loved quilting, cooking, baking, and canning. She was the oldest member of The Uniontown Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years on May 1, 2018, Glenn Knox, brother: Charles Higinbotham, sister-in-law: Aliece Higinbotham.
Doris is survived by her son: Wesley Knox and his wife Paula, daughter: Lou Ann Knox, granddaughters: Lauren Knox and Stacey Passieu and her husband Joey, great-grandson: Brent Nichols, great-granddaughter: Lucie Passieu, brothers: Edward Higinbotham and wife Nonie, David Higinbotham, special friend: Ava Roach, several nieces and nephews
Friends will be received in The Dearth Funeral Home 35 South Mill Street New Salem, PA on Friday from 2-8PM and on Saturday from 10-11AM. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM with Pastor Edwin Moore Officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park.
