Dorothy Ellen Frost Johns, 90, of Hilliard, FL passed away September 12, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born May 6, 1930 in Buffalo, NY to the late Elmer Bryan Frost and Eugenie Ehmann Brown Frost. She retired as a Cosmetology teacher from the Tampa Bay Vo-Tech High School. She was a member of the Hilliard First Assembly of God and the Hilliard Silver Sneakers.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Arlie W. Johns Jr. they had been married for 67 years before his death in 2013.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Donna Hough and her husband, Ronald, and Delilah Spivey and her husband, Edward; a son and daughter-in-law: Rev. Arlie W. Johns, III and his wife, Donna; 2-sisters: Elizabeth Boyd and Mary Bryson; a brother: Elmer Frost; 7-grandchildren and 17-great grandchildren.
Dorothy loved her family wholeheartedly and always put those around her first, whether it was family, friends, or even strangers. She was always more than willing to help those in their time of need. Dorothy consistently placed others above herself and sacrificially loved her family.
A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, October 11 at 5:00 PM at the Hilliard First Assembly of God with Rev. Joshua Johns and Rev. David Manning officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Tampa, FL on October 23 at 1:00 PM.
