Gloria Jacobs

Gloria A. Johnson Jacobs, 81, of Folkston, Georgia passed away May 20, 2016 following a battle with cancer.  She was the daughter of the late Aress L. Johnson and Julia Odessa Parrott Johnson.  She retired as a custodian with the Charlton County School System, after 29 years and had many friends there she loved dearly. She loved flowers and cooking for family and friends.   Mrs. Jacobs was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Folkston.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Ben Thomas and Edward Dewey Jacobs; 5-sisters:  Berniece  (Vernon) Ammons, Loretta (Gordon) Shaw, Latrelle Cox, Ann Lee (Paul) Sikes and Dee Alva Stewart and 3-Brothers:  Osburn (Lena) Johnson, Hybert (Bobbie) Johnson and Elbrey Johnson.
She truly cared for her entire extended family of many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.  She spent the last few months in the loving care of her beloved niece Paula Lott and her husband, Phil, and their children Foster and Madelyn Lott.  She was survived by a Brother-In-Law:  John Cox and  Sister-In-Laws:  Dorothy Johnson and Lena Johnson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 24 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Tim King officiating.  Burial will follow in Homeland Cemetery with Dr. Randy Jacoby offering the committal service.
