Harry Reed, Sr.

Harry Herman Reed, Sr., 82 of Brooklet, Georgia passed away January 21, 2016 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Georgia.  He was born June 12, 1933 in Hilliard, Florida to Vinter Herbert and Ruth Lee Glover Reed. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved hunting, fishing and watching all sports. Mr. Reed was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by a son: Harry Reed, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, Florida; Daughter: Bambi Singletary(Christopher) of Brooklet, Georgia; Twelve Grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Laura Spurlock(Red), Julia Spurlock, all of Folkston; Jean Whittle of Hilliard, Florida; two brothers: V.H. Reed and George Reed(Ottie) of Hilliard, Florida and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife: Marlene; a son: Mark Reed and daughter: Melissa Strange.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Shepard Roberson Funeral Home from 5 until 7 PM. Graveside services will be Monday, January 25, 2016 at Whittle Family Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bob Taylor officiating.
