James Owen Melton

James Owen Melton, 75, of Folkston, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026. He was born in Alma, Georgia, on March 9, 1951, to the late James Thomas Melton, Sr. and Ethel Harris Melton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Leonard Melton, John Melton, and Christine McPhetridge.

He is survived by his siblings: Donnie Melton, Kathy Zibrowski (Paul), Kenny Melton (Cindy), Sandra Tucker (Robbie) and Diane Carver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
