Jefferson "J.L." Vining, Sr.

Jefferson Lee Vining, Sr. (J.L.) passed away Thursday November 23 following a lengthy illness.  He was born May 20, 1930 in Pearson, GA to the late Owen Vining and May Eula Ryner Vining.  He retired from the Duval County School System after many years of service.  He was a member of the Callahan Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his wife:  Sarah Vining; a son;  Randy Vining; 2-grandchildren:  Melissa R. Lee and Dennis L. Vining; 3-sisters:  Laverne Spivey, Thelma Overstreet and Gertrude Kirby; 3-brothers:  Owen Vining, Jr, Buddy Vining and Bill Vining.
He is survived by his children:  J.L. Vining, Jr., Brenda Hosick, Johnny Vining and Marty Vining; 2-Brothers:  Jimmy Vining and Eston Vining and 3-Sisters:  Mary Reliford, Virginia Stone and Beth Bennett; 18-Grandchildren and 9-Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 30 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, GA from 6-8 PM.  Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, December 1 at 1:00 PM in Jones Cemetery in Callahan, FL.
