JoAnn Davis Hodges

JoAnn Davis Hodges, 84, of Hilliard, Florida, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026. She was born in Hilliard, Florida on August 4, 2026, to the late Hilary and Dorothy Griffin Davis. JoAnn was many things to many people – a beloved daughter, sister, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and proud great-grandmother. She shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with Cecil, the love of her life, who sadly passed away before her. Their life was filled with memories, love, family, laughter and a bond that grew stronger with time. Though his passing left an emptiness in her heart, the love they shared remained a treasured part of her life. Being a grandmother was one of the roles that she treasured most. She wasn’t simply their grandmother, she was one of their first best friends, greatest cooks, memory maker, laugh partner, wisdom sharer and much more. She will be missed deeply.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years: Cecil G. Hodges; son: Avner G. Hodges; and sister: Joyce “Joy” Eason.

She is survived by her sons: Anthony (Rhena’) Hodges and Derrick (Polly) Hodges; granddaughters: Jennifer Hodges, Raegan (Ethan) Johnson, Madison JoAnn Hodges, Hali (Justin) Coffey, Tabytha (Will) Johns, Breanna (Byron) Knowles; great-grandchildren: Emersen, Derrick Lane, Walker, Gannon, Griffin, Liza, Alli, Anistyn, Finley, Ashton, Jackson, Paisley, and James; siblings: Lavonne (William) DiMaria, Shirley (the late William) Cowart, Cleo (Albert) Blatt, and Gary (Virginia) Davis; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law , brothers-in-law and friends that loved and adored her.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Nathalene Cemetery in Hilliard, Florida with Bro. Daniel Drawdy officiating. Pallbearers will be Robert Cowart, Michael Davis, Timmy McCullough, Ethan Johnson, Kevin Lewis and Alan DiMaria. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Davis, Clinton Davis and Aldean Hodges.
