Joe Carter

Joe Carter, 61, of Folkston, passed away at his residence November 16 following a lengthy illness. He was the owner/operator of Carter's OTR Tire Company in Folkston. He was born in Folkston, GA to the late John Elvin Carter and Margaret Crews Carter. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his sister: Janice (Rex) Whalen and a brother: J.E. (Pat) Carter both of Folkston; a number of cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. Carter will be taken back to his residence Sunday November 18 at 3:00 PM to lie in state there until the funeral. Funeral services will be held Monday November 19 at 3:00 PM at Sand Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will be at Racepond Cemetery at Sand Hill Baptist Church.
