Johnny Gibbs

July 6, 1951 — September 25, 2017

Johnny Otis Gibbs, 66 of Ludowici, Georgia passed away suddenly on Monday, September 25, 2017 in Savannah Georgia.  He was born and raised in Folkston, Georgia and lived for several years in New Jersey and Virginia.

Otis was the eldest son of the late Otis Gibbs and Pearly Mae Gibbs.  He moved to NJ where he met and married Joanne Stevenson in 1979. They have 2 children, Camille and Nikki.

He held many different jobs in his career and retired from Eastern Motors after many years.  Anybody who knows Otis knew he loved cars.  He would spend many hours working on and detailing them.  Otis loved to laugh and have a good time. His family and friends could always count on him to make you smile.

He was predeceased by his Father, Otis (Bo) Gibbs and his brother, Earl Gibbs.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving daughters, Camille Richardson (Mark)and Nikki Bateman (Rob), his Mother, Pearly Mae Gibbs, 3 Grandchildren, Imani Tutson, Makeyla Richardson and Lila Bateman; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Ju'elz Tutson and Lailoni Tutson;4 Brothers, Larry Gibbs, Harry Gibbs (Sheila), Arthur Gibbs (Jacqueline) and Anthony Gibbs (Tammy); 6 Sisters, Darlene Redmon (Tony); Mary Gibbs; Shirley Barnes, Loretta Leonard, Diane Brown (Charlie) and Patricia Gibbs; his long time companion, Dorothy Talley, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 30 at Mt. New Home Baptist Church at 12:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Folkston, GA.
