Joseph Jackson McCranie, III

Joseph Jackson McCranie, III, 86, of Folkston, GA passed away at his home on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born in Jacksonville, FL on January 24, 1939, to the late Joseph Jackson McCranie, Jr. and Virginia Fitch McCranie. Joseph proudly served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

He is survived by his life partner of 55 years: Ron Rigdon; brother: Bruce McCranie (Maureen); sister Ginger M. Reed (Scott); and nephew: Jay Reed (Lizzie).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Father Mariusz Fuks officiating. 

Memorialization will be by cremation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church in Joe’s name.
