Kathleen Fortenberry

Kathleen (Kathy) Whitcomb Fortenberry, 71, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 12, 2019.

Born February 11, 1948, in Ashland, OH, she was the daughter of the late Charles Robert and Lavona Deardorff Whitcomb of Ashland, Ohio.

Kathy received her BS Degree in Medical Technology from Kent State University, Kent Ohio and embarked on a 43-year career in the Healthcare, Healthcare Management, and Healthcare Information Technology arenas in both Jacksonville, FL and Marietta, GA.

Kathy is survived by her loving daughter, Alison Gibson Jacowitz, son-in-law Brian Eric Jacowitz, and grandson Alex Cade Jacowitz all of Cumming, GA.

She is further survived by her brother and sister-in-law, James A. and Sherry Whitcomb of Kings Mills, Ohio; nephew, Jonathan A. (Sara) Whitcomb and their children Rowan, Asher, and Guerin of Westfield, Indiana; niece, Angela (Mike) Cacace and their children, Michael, Chloe, Olivia and Emily of Wappingers Falls, NY.

She is also survived by many cousins and other family members as well as family friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
