Laford Sewell

Laford (“Tootie”) Sewell 86 passed away September 27, 2014.   She was a long time member of Buford Grove Baptist Church, Hilliard, Florida.  She was born August 29, 1928 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Mont Owens and Stella Shiplett Owens.
“Tootie” was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Stars, Somerset Chapter.  She put several years of service in for the local telephone company, but most remembered as owner and manager of Sugar Hill Grocery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clifford Sewell.   She is survived by two children, Lamonta (Donovan) Webb of Hilliard, Florida, and Monty (Kathern) Sewell of Jacksboro, Tennessee.  She has 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
Viewing in Florida will be at Buford Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday September 30th 6 - 8pm.  Viewing in Kentucky will be on Thursday October 2nd 6 - 8pm.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 3 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking with burial in Barnesburg Cemetery beside her husband and other family members.
