Lester Taylor

Mr. Lester Jackson "L.J." Taylor, 86, of Folkston, GA passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born March 26, 1936 in Folkston, GA to the late Elbert Taylor and Avie O'Quinn Taylor. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and retired in 1974 after 20 years of service. After returning to Charlton County, he retired from the Vocational Department of Charlton County High School. He kept stats on the sidelines of Charlton County High School Football for over 40 years. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Folkston.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Edna D. Taylor; his children and their spouses: Steve and Susan Taylor and Cindy and Howard McCullough; his grandsons: Adam McCullough, Matthew McCullough, Drew Taylor (wife Brooke Brand Taylor) and Brent Taylor; great grandchildren: Jackson McCullough, Jude McCullough, Ezekiel McCullough, Gabriel McCullough, Georgia Grace Taylor and Gentry Taylor and a brother: Morris Taylor.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Folkston with Rev. Randy Jacoby officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Military honors will be rendered at the church.
