Linda Diane Kitchings passed away on February 5, 2024 after a brave battle with Huntington’s disease. She was born on February 6, 1949, to the late Lonnie Ray Cox, Sr., and Margie Woolard Nelson. Linda always confronted life‘s challenges with strength and courage. She traveled extensively through Europe with her military husband. As a lover of food, she developed a talent for cooking. Her self-taught culinary skills lead her to be an owner and operator of several charming cafés. Her canine companions, Little Bit and Honey were dearly loved by Linda. She loved to work outdoors and could be seen riding the tractor with her grandson, Chandler, on her lap. Her love as a mother was fearless and unconditional.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson; Joseph Chandler Austin, and her brother; Lonnie Ray Cox, Jr.
She is survived by her 3-children; Janice (Albert) Lodge, Daniel (Laura) Kitchings, and Teresa Kitchings, 3-grandchildren; Kelsey Lynne Miller, Sarah Kitchings, and Dylan Kitchings, and 2-sisters; Patricia Cox and Zelma Marie (Steven) Truitt.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Camp Pinckney Cemetery with Pastor Cliff Adams officiating.
Linda’s family would like to thank the staff at Bryan County Health and Rehab and Hospice for their compassionate care during her stay.
We are happy you are home and pain free. We will always love and miss you until we meet again.
