Loralee Brown Wertz

Loralee Brown Wertz, 86, of Folkston, GA passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. She was born in Jacksonville, FL, on January 19, 1940, to the late Lewis Bryant Brown and Bessie Belle Malphurs Brown. Loralee was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of Kings Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville.

Loralee had a special place in her heart for the Georgia Bulldogs which she loved dearly, and her home was often filled with the timeless sounds of Hank Williams. His music provided the soundtrack to many cherished moments, reflecting her appreciation for tradition, simplicity, and heartfelt emotion.

Above all, Loralee will be remembered for her warmth, her nurturing spirit, and the lasting impact she made on generations of children and families. Her legacy of love and care lives on in the countless lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Frank Wertz; and 3-sons: Lonnie Turner, Rickey Haas and Danny Haas.

She is survived by her 2-daughters: Joanne Thorburn and Vickey Ladd; 19-grandchildren; and 29-great-grandchildren.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
