Marion Benjamin "Benny" Bass

Marion Benjamin “Benny” Bass, 67, of Folkston, GA passed away suddenly November 24, 2025, in St. Marys, GA. Benny was also known by his family and friends as “BB,” “Ben,” “PopPop,” and “Papa BB.” He was born March 29, 1958, to the late John Bunyan “J.B.” Bass, Sr. and Vivian Mimbs Bass in McRae, GA. Growing up, he was a member of Spring Hill Methodist Church in Alamo, GA and attended Philadelphia Free Will Baptist in Folkston after moving there. For the last 8 years, he was a member of Harbor Worship Center in Kingsland, GA. Ben was the owner/operator of Bass Transport.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years: Connie O’Quinn Bass; his children: Ryan (Danielle) Bass, Casey Bass (Chuck) Theus, Gregory (Erika) Cowart, Whitney Cowart and Sam Cornett; 2-brothers: Robert “Bobby” (Gilda) Bass and John (Helen) Bass, Jr.; his grandchildren: Blayde Brewer, Gabriel Brewer, Amelia Crews, ViviAnne Bass, Seth Hodges, Addison Grace Cowart, Lucianna Harris and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, December 1 at 2:00 PM at Harbor Worship Center with Pastor Mike Sanes officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Memorialization will be by cremation.
