Michael "Tater" Orvin Griffin

Michael “Tater” Orvin Griffin, 62, of Folkston, GA passed away December 31, 2023 in Brunswick following a lengthy illness.  He was born March 3, 1961 in Folkston, GA to the late Orvin Griffin and Gertrude Sikes Griffin.  Michael loved going to Charlton County Football games.  He delivered newspapers for the Waycross Journal Herald for many years before his retirement.  He enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals, typing his mother’s recipes on his phone and downloading all his old favorite music to his phone.  But his favorite pastime was singing and playing air guitar to anyone who would listen. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant siblings.

He is survived by his cousin that was like a brother:  Ryne Kuehner; his cousins:    Joe and Janice Kuehner, Ineva and Rayford Hilton, Latrell and Joe Murray, Ricky and Melanie Crews, Micky and Jenny Crews, Delania Crews and Numerous Griffin Cousins.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home.  A family interment will be held at a later date.
