Oscar Eugene Pearce, II

Oscar “Butch” Eugene Pearce, II, 76, of Folkston, GA passed away at his home on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born in Folkston, GA on June 12, 1949, to the late Jim B. Pearce, Jr. and Dorothy Huggins Pearce. Butch retired from the Florida Department of Corrections after 23 years of service. He loved hunting with his son, fishing, and attending the Nascar race with his daughter each year.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Sandy Pearce Boyd.

He is survived by his daughter: Crystal Gates (Derek); son: Oscar “BJ” E. Pearce, Jr. (Lauren); 6-grandchildren: Lana Gates, Adam Gates, Hayden Pearce, Avery Pearce, Kaylee Pearce, and Autumn Lambert; and a brother: Robert “Bob” B. Pearce (Dana).

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
