DANVILLE, GA – Oscar Dale Vanzant, 77 of Hwy 112, passed away Sunday in Augusta, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday in Reece Funeral Home at 15548 US Hwy 80, Jeffersonville, GA.  Funeral services will be held Friday October 27, 2023 at 2:00PM in Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home at 526 Oakwood St. Folkston, GA.  Burial will be in the Brickyard Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.

Mr. Vanzant was born in Jacksonville, FL, the son of the late Oscar Tinie Vanzant and Eloise Hardee Vanzant. Dale lived in Fernandina, FL before moving to Danville, GA.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria V. Griffis, his brothers, Lloyd Lee Vanzant and Billy Vanzant.  Dale was a Truck Driver with Rozier Forestry Products and he was a Baptist. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Bowen Vanzant.  Three Step-Sons, Jeff Bowen, Joey Bowen and Tracy Bowen.  Step-Daughter Robin B. Hasty.  Brother, Roland (Deloris) Vanzant.  Three sisters, Norita Davis, Ava June (Bobby) Bryant, and Cherrie (Michael) Whitley.  Six Step Grandchildren and Eleven Step Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
