Sherral Ann Purvis Pike, affectionately known by her family and loved ones as “Prissy” or “Pippi,” of Hilliard, Florida, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on August 19, 2026. She was born November 6, 1955, in Folkston, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Ann Purvis.
Prissy was a woman whose presence could never be replaced. She was the glue that held her family together; the caretaker, the boss, the problem solver, the one who could be whatever her family needed her to be. She loved fiercely, cared deeply, and never hesitated to step up when someone she loved needed her. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she devoted her life to loving and caring for them.
Sherral spent 32 years proudly serving the children and families of Nassau County as a school bus driver before retiring. She also was a co-owner of Giddy Up Preschool for 15 years, where her love for children and her caring nature touched countless young lives.
Her love for the Lord was at the very center of who she was. Sherral was a faithful member of Buford Grove Baptist Church in Hilliard, Florida, for more than 30 years. For nearly 20 of those years, she devoted her time and heart to serving in the church kitchen. She didn’t simply attend church; she served, loved, and gave of herself to her church family.
Prissy wanted everyone to know that her faith never wavered. She lived her life walking by faith, not by sight, and that faith carried her through every season of her life. Her family finds comfort knowing that she is now resting in the arms of the Lord she loved so dearly.
She is survived by her son, Robert Pike Jr. (Darlene); her grandchildren, Trey Pike (Marquita), Hunter Pike (Sabrina), Brandon Pike (Kasandra), and Allen Jordan; her siblings, Guy Purvis (Susan), Decky Purvis, Ringo Purvis, Tammy Vanzant (Mark), Mark Purvis (Terri), and Clark Purvis (Lisa); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Ann Purvis; her loving husband, Robert Pike Sr.; and her beloved son, Willie Joe Purvis.
Though her earthly work is finished, the love she poured into her family and everyone around her will live on. Her laughter, her strength, her caring heart, and the countless ways she showed up for the people she loved will never be forgotten.
Prissy was the glue. She was the caretaker. She was the boss. She was the heart of her family. And above all, she was a woman of faith.
She is now walking by sight, and she never gave up the faith.
