Steven Jackson Taylor, 64, of Folkston, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. He was born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida on April 27, 1958 to Lester Jackson Taylor and Edna Earl Dixon Taylor. Steven was known by many as “Flazze.” He was an avid sportsman in his younger years. He loved to play softball, golf, fish, hunt, and run dogs with his sons. Flazze loved to cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars, Georgia Bulldogs, and Atlanta Braves. His family, especially his granddaughters, were his pride and joy. He loved spending time with them. He retired from Kings Bay Naval Base where he was a Hazardous Waste Materials Specialist. After his retirement, his hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles, watching American Idol and America’s Got Talent, and acquiring hoodies and blankets.

He is preceded in death by his father; Lester Jackson Taylor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years; Susan Roddenberry Taylor, 2-sons; Drew (Brooke) Taylor and Brent Taylor, 2-granddaughters; Georgia Grace Taylor and Gentry Taylor, his mom; Edna Taylor, sister; Cindy (Howard) McCullough, and 2-nephews; Adam McCullough and Matthew McCullough and 15-maternal nieces and nephews.

Memorialization will be by cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Philadelphia Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Billy Champion officiating and Roger Sloan speaking on behalf of the family. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
