Teresa Kay McCarver

Teresa Kay McCarver (Terry) passed away on September 22, 2026 in her home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 71. And while her leaving this world undoubtedly makes it a little darker, we must remember the incredible light that she brought to anyone and everyone who had the honor of knowing the legendary person we got to call Mom, Wife, Grandma, Sister, and Friend.

Born in Kirkland, Washington in 1955 to parents Norman and Thelma Peterson. She would tell stories about her rough and tumble ways as a child, being the oldest with 5 younger brothers left her no option but to be tough as nails. The way she tells it she might have gotten into more fights than her brothers did! However tough she might have been back then, the people who know her best find it a little hard to believe. All we know is the sweetest, kindest, and most loving human that any of us have ever known.

Terry would grow up to have 4 boys of her own and spend 46 years of her life married to her best friend and soulmate Mac McCarver. Being the wife of a Navy man, raising 4 boys was no small feat. This woman was made of pure superpowers, creating the mold of how to be the best mother any boy ever had. She loved unconditionally, sacrificed endlessly, and brought pure joy and happiness to everyone she encountered. She had an unmatched passion for celebrating every aspect of life, with decorating skills to make every occasion a celebration. With a hot glue gun and can of spray paint, she could whip up masterpieces that would have put all of Pinterest combined to shame.

Terry spent later years in life basking in the joy of being a grandmother, shaping the lives of the next generation of this family. Endless memories, trips, gifts and special occasions with her grandchildren were what she lived for. Her love for animals was also unmatched, even volunteering to be a pet foster mom. Her house and camera roll were a temple for the love she had for all her critters. On top of all this, she found the time and energy to be a dedicated and loyal friend to all, often driving hours upon hours a day just to visit and help whoever needed it.

Terry is survived by her Husband Mac, sons Michael, David, and Norman. Grandchildren are Jimmy, Gage, Rachel, Taylor, Ryder, CJ, Alexis, and Georgia. Great Grandchildren Kayden and Annalisa. She joins many of the angels we have lost along the way. We move forward knowing that we all had the absolute honor of getting to spend time on this earth with one of God’s true angels, and all our lives are better having been blessed to be a part of her life. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home. 

Memorialization will be by cremation.
