Virginia Powell

Virginia Lee Powell, 71, of St. George, GA passed away at her residence February 5, 2019 following an extended illness.  She was born December 14, 1947 in Jacksonville, FL to the late William Hade Prevatt and Violet Faircloth Thornton.  She was a homemaker and member of the Hilliard Church of God.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George E. Powell and a brother, Jackson H. Prevatt.

She is survived by her children:  Lisa A. Powell, Kevin W. (Kylie) Powell; 3-grandchildren:  Zachary, Alexas, and Mackenzie Powell; 2-sisters:  Annie Mae Curry and Ruth Collier and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Powell officiating.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.
