William Arthur Smith

May 12, 1956 — November 10, 2023

Bryceville

Heaven’s gates swung open upon the arrival of William Arthur Smith, 67, of Dahoma, FL on Friday, November 10, 2023 in Kingsland, GA.

Bill passed into light from darkness surrounded by his loving family. Bill, the son of Wilbur Randall Smith and Sarah Eunice Smith, was preceded in death by his loving parents, his son Lucian Smith, and his sister Kay Griffin.

Bill leaves behind his longtime loving soul mate Susie Rewis; daughters Susie (Smith) Rick and Makayla Smith; grandchildren Wyatt Smith, Brett Rick, Mallory Rick, and Raimey Smith; brothers Randy Smith (Ann) and Ken Smith (Barb), sisters Peggy Seeley (Ken) and Melody Kirkwood (John), and brother Alan Smith (Charmin); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, along with his beloved and faithful dog Sage.

Bill was a thoughtful, giving man who had many interests, including American history, military service, astronomy, people, cooking, outdoors, fishing, hunting, and simple walks through the woods to take care of the plants and animals. Bill enjoyed reading his Bible and sharing God’s word. Bill received and took God’s plan of salvation at the age of 12. He was a lifelong student of the Bible and its scriptures. He would share these words with family and friends and any who would listen.

However, his biggest love was his family. Bill kept tabs on birthdays and special family days, family history…BILL LOVED HIS FAMILY. He demonstrated this daily.

Bill served his country in the U.S.C.G. from 1975 – 1978. He was proud of his service to his country. Bill enjoyed laughing, making you laugh, jokes, and entertaining others.

During Bill’s years of employment, he spent 15 years as a surveyor for The Container Corporation. Bill was also a gifted welder who took great pride in his craft. He enjoyed his time at The Jacksonville Shipyards as a certified welder and metal worker.

William Arthur Smith (Bill) will have a private service with his family at a date that is presently not announced.

Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest registry at www.shepardrobersonfh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home, Folkston, GA.
