William "Bill" Highsmith

September 1, 1956 — January 18, 2021

William “Bill” Daryle Highsmith, 64, of Folkston, GA passed away Monday, January 18, 2021.  He was born September 1, 1956 in Richmond, VA to the late William Haywood Highsmith and Sallie Myrtle Burrell Highsmith.  He proudly served his country in the US Navy for 21 years.  Bill enjoyed lots of projects, building stuff with his hands, making wine, and loved to travel and classic cars.  He was the ultimate prankster and jokester.  Bill was a very family oriented man, a loving father and papa.  He was extremely generous and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his children:  Zachary Collin (Ashlynn) Highsmith, Joseph Ethan Highsmith, Kala (Jess) Nettles, Whitney Sierra Dorman and Shelby Nicole Johnson; a brother:  Gerald Highsmith and 8-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, January 22 in Sardis Cemetery at 4:00 PM.

Due to Covid-19, the family would like to ask all attendees to please follow the rules of social distancing and face masks are recommended at the service.  Also, anyone that does not feel comfortable with attending the service, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
