Woodrow Wilson Whigam, 97, passed away December 21 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Dodge County, GA to the late Lockwood Whigam, Sr. and Edna Lancaster Whigam on July 9, 1917. He was a US Army Veteran from 1941-1945 where he served in Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He was a 32nd Degree Mason #358 in Buffalo, NY and was a member of Ancient Order of the Mystic Shrine in Buffalo, NY. He was a proud member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired from General Motors Corporation. He was preceded in death by her wife of 52 years: Edna Hull Whigam.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law: Otto and Joyce Whigam; a sister-in-law: Jackie Whigam; Nephews: Michael (Vickie) Whigam, Marty (Bonnie) Whigam, Griggs (Sandra) Whigam, Danny Whigam, Woody (Jan) Whigam, Paul O’Brien, Lee (Brenda) O’Brien, & Scott (Cheryl) Hull; Nieces: Sharon W. (Chip) Beal, Rubye Jo (Emory) Duke, Dale (Johnny) Martin, Glenda (Tony) Gonzales, Faye (Lamar) Spencer, Barbara (Gene) Riedel, Terri Cudditty, Renee Bosilkovski.
Funeral services will be held December 23 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Shepard Funeral Home. A Chapel service will be held January 5 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Ginnane Funeral Home in Buffalo, NY with the family receiving friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY.
