Yvonne Roddenberry Turner, 76, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Wednesday,
October 27, 2021. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Charlton County by her
parents, the late Thomas Lanier and Myrtle Murray Roddenberry. She retired from the United
States Postal Service and served as the secretary of her church, Garden City United Methodist
Church, for many years. She is noted for her talents in crafts, especially with regards to
ceramics and sewing.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Turner, and son, Timothy Turner. She is
survived by her son: Tracy (Brooke) Turner; her granddaughter Bailey Turner; 5 sisters: Theo
Phillips, Connie (Ken) Gay, Marsha Johnson, Brenda Maifarth, and Susan (Steve) Taylor; many
special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 1, at 11:00 AM, at Prospect United
Methodist Church, in Folkston, Georgia with Rev. Larry Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in
Prospect Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her granddaughter Bailey Turner and her nieces and nephews: Pam
Strickland, Juile Neumann, Darlene Tait, David Phillips, Natalie Newvine, Nathan Johnson, Tara
Lynch, Layne Goodwin, Drew Taylor, and Brent Taylor.
